The Plaza del Castillo is in the heart of the city. It is an imperfect ring of 14,000 square meters has been and remains the scene of the main acontencimientos the idea of Pamplona: bullfights until 1844, battles, tournaments, markets, and military parades. From this square arise many of the narrow streets of Casco Viejo of Pamplona. It is surrounded by houses mostly dating from the eighteenth century where balconies, towers, attics and windows.
