Platform 9¾

As any fan of J.K. Rowling’s bestselling series will know, King’s Cross is where students of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry catch the Hogwarts Express.

In the wizarding world, Harry and his friends get to the platform by dashing through a brick wall between platforms 9 and 10. Meanwhile, in the real King’s Cross, platforms 9 and 10 are separated by tracks, but you can find a platform 9¾ on the wall in the station concourse.

Platform Nine and Three-Quarters ( Platform9¾) was a platform at King’s Cross Station in London. Magically concealed behind the barrier between Muggle Platforms Nine and Ten, this Platform was where Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry students boarded the Hogwarts Express every 1 September, in order to attend school.

At the Platform9¾ in King’s Cross, there are official, professional photographers onsite from 8am-10pm Monday to Saturday and 9am-9pm on Sundays; they can take a great photo but you’ll have to pay to get it. Friends or family can also snap a photo at any of the Platform9¾ locations with your own camera or smartphone.
