Plage du Virage, Dakar, Senegal
Plage de Virage is a popular spot with surfers. This small beach gets packed on weekends with a mostly local crowd, though a few foreigners pass by, sometimes before or after a flight as it’s fairly close to the airport.
The Plage du Rivage bears the name of the restaurant built in front of the beach . , closed to Gondolier Hotel. It is located between Ngor and Yoff, frequented by many young Senegalese and Europeans residing in the close residential quarters. The enormous waves give sensations to swimmers and surfers who are numerous to frequent. There are usually quite few people except the summer weekends. Sale of sandwiches and drinks at reasonable prices. Rental / sale / maintenance of surf and bodyboard nearby.
