Penghu Great Bridge, Baisha Township, Penghu County, Taiwán

The total length of the Wuhu Cross-sea Bridge is 2,494 meters. It spans the Qimen Waterway between the islands of Baisha and Xiyu. The water flow is rapid and the flow rate is said to be as high as 3 meters per second. This is the second insurance flow in the Penghu Sea area. When the northeast monsoon arrives in winter, it is raging and difficult to sail. Therefore, a cross-sea bridge was built in 1965 and was completed and commissioned in 1970 to solve the traffic difficulties of Yu Long Island. Afterwards, due to the serious corrosion of bridges and the collapse of bridges, the levees were widened in 1984 and completed and opened to traffic in 1996 as a two-lane new bridge.

Yuanwang Changhong is not only of sightseeing value, but also allows traffic in both Xiyu and Baisha to flow smoothly. To date, the early cement pillars and frames still remain on the north side of the Xiyuyu Bridge, and mottled piers are left on the Xiyu side. This shows that the early Xiyu power was transported across the sea by high-voltage wire racks, and was retired from the old bridge. A long history of vicissitudes.
