Pegrema, Republic of Karelia, Russia

Decayed and collapsing on the banks of Lake Onega in the Republic of Karelia, in Russia, stands the remains of a forgotten settlement called Pegrema. Information on the ghost town and what happened to its residents is almost as difficult to find as Pegrema itself

The wooden chapel, known as Varlaam Khutynsky, is said to date back to some time in the 18th century. Standing among a few other wooden buildings, the forgotten chapel stands empty yet still beautiful in its abandonment.
