Pedra da Cebola Park, Vitoria, State of Espirito Santo, Brazil

The Onion Stone Park has Restinga Forest and Atlantic forest copies and native rupestral vegetation from the site, which houses small reptiles and birds. With an area with over 100,000 square meters, the park also has an eastern garden and a gazebo overlooking part of the Massif Central, the Port of Tubarão and the Master Alvaro Hill, located in the Mountain.

The park was established in November 1997, in a place where, until 1978, there was the Goiabeiras quarry, owned by the mining company Vale. This is the first area of recovery degraded by this type of economic activity in the municipality. In the environment of the old mine, a flat area is used for small and medium events and to practice sports.

The park name derives its name from a large stone carved by nature, which rests on another rock. Due to its geological behavior, the stone “flakes” in a manner that is similar to straws of an onion. The Onion Stone Park has playgrounds, lagoons and a football field, besides a Center for Environmental Education (CEA). The area also has the free internet signal of Vitória Online.
