Patara Ruins, Kaş, Antalya, Turkey
Much of the city of Patara remains buried in sand, which has helped to preserve many of the ruins. Of particular interest are the Amphitheatre, Necropolis and the monumental gate or Arch of Triumph.
The ruins are quite amazing and rumoured that on full excavation to be larger than Ephesus. This is the birthplace of St Nicholas and your first sighting will be the city gate just before the entrance to the ruins
