Patrick J. ‘Pat’ Esser is the chief executive officer of Cox Communications. Esser assumed the role of president of the cable television company owned by Cox Enterprises in 2006. The announcement was made as part of a re-organization of the top three executives at the company, triggered by the retirement of James O. Robbins and Jimmy W. Hayes move to Cox Enterprises.

C-SPAN (Cable Satellite Public Affairs Network) is a private, non-profit company, created in 1979 by the cable television industry as a public service. Our mission is to provide public access to the political process. C-SPAN receives no government funding; operations are funded by fees paid by cable and satellite affiliates who carry C-SPAN programming.
