Partnachklamm Gorge

This narrow, scenic gorge with waterfalls & a walkway is a popular hiking destination. The Partnach Gorge is a deep gorge that has been incised by a mountain stream, the Partnach, in the Reintal valley near the south German town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The gorge is 702 metres long and, in places, over 80 metres deep. It was designated a natural monument in 1912.

The magnificent Partnachklamm is about 700 m long, its walls rise up to 80m. It is also accessible in the winter by stoles and passages, which are blown into the rock, and the bizarre ice formations give this natural beauty a special charm. The bridge can be crossed over an iron bridge 68 m above the river. It connects the Hausberg area with the Wamberg. Every year the Partnachklamm counts more than 200,000 visitors.
