In Omsk, a monument to the gun . It is located at the river station and according to historical data, it seems to be the same as the landing site of Colonel Ivan Buchholz, the founders of the city.
The colonel arrived in this place to erect an Omsk fortress, which later grew into an industrial city.
When they decided to improve this area somehow, for a long time they chose which monument to put, but stopped on the gun, because it was in those days the most powerful and dangerous weapons, especially for ships, and the gun is aimed at water. Therefore, even installed a gun of those times, when the Omsk fortress was laid.
To people and so basically it is pleasant to walk near to water, likely, it in genes. Because before the cities were built exclusively next to river or sea routes. Here and the embankment of the river station is one of the favorite places for people to walk.
And almost immediately formed a new belief and habit, now the newlyweds must come to the embankment and hang their lock on the chain that next to the gun. I do not know exactly what they are guided by, they probably want their marriage to be as long and prosperous as Omsk itself. Perhaps, I will not argue, I will not think about it, but now there is no place on the chains of the “living” place.
