Washington DC Police

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) is constantly working to build stronger and more impactful relationships with community members. Community engagement is at the core of everything we do at the Metropolitan Police Department. We serve the community, we engage with the community, and our sworn and professional staff are a part of the community.

Washington DC police departments are one of the greatest and most essential resources in the city that serve the interest of the public good and safety. Police departments are of course the first line of defense that all citizens turn to when in danger or when confronted with a situation that violates their rights. They are also host to several agencies that recruit anyone interested in working for the state or municipal police department.
