Palace of Türkmenbaşy, Ashgabat, Turkmenistan
Oguzkhan Presidential Palace is the official seat and also residence where the President of Turkmenistan is doing the daily duties, and it is located in the capital city of Turkmenistan, Ashgabat. Located more precisely on Independence Square, sometimes referred to as the Presidential Palace Square, it has a very central location within the city, and as it is newly built, it replaced the little Türkmenbaşy Palace.
The first palace was built in 1997 by the French construction company Bouygues for the first President of Turkmenistan, Saparmurat Niyazov, which served as the official seat and residence until his death in 2006.
