Unveiled on 9 October 2024, the statue is located on a bench in St Andrew Square Garden, offering a delightful photo opportunity for visitors. Dressed in his iconic red hat and blue duffle coat, Paddington sits with a marmalade sandwich in hand, inviting fans to join him for a selfie. This installation is one of 23 across the UK and Ireland, including notable locations like John O’Groats and Lanark .

The statue has become a popular spot for both locals and tourists, with many stopping to take photos and enjoy the whimsical addition to the city’s public art scene. The Paddington statue in Edinburgh is expected to remain in place until October 2025, allowing ample time for visitors to experience this charming tribute to the beloved bear from Peru
