Olympic Village

An Olympic Village is a residential complex built or reassigned for the Olympic Games in or nearby the host city for the purpose of accommodating all of the delegations. Olympic Villages are usually located close to the Olympic Stadium within an Olympic Park. Olympic Villages are built to house all participating athletes during the two weeks of the Games, as well as officials and athletic trainers

The Village will span parts of three cities: Saint-Denis, Saint Ouen and L’Île-Saint-Denis. It will accommodate 14,250 athletes during the Olympic Games, and 8,000 during the Paralympic Games. Up to 60,000 meals will be served each day, and a medical clinic will be available at all times for the athletes. After the Games, the Village will become a neighbourhood with:

  • Paris 2024 Olympic Games Map
  • 2,500 new homes
  • One student residence
  • One hotel
  • A three-hectare landscaped park
  • About seven hectares of gardens and parks
  • 120,000 sqm of offices and city services
  • 3,200 sqm of neighbourhood shops

Located some 7 km north of the centre of Paris, overlapping the communes of Saint-DenisIle Saint-Denis and Saint-Ouen and less than 5 minutes away from the Stade de France, the village will be the epicentre of the Paris 2024 design. Comprised within a radius of 500 m, the compactness of the village makes it functional and ideal for athletes. It includes three main areas: the Olympic Village Plazza, an international zone open onto the Seine river, a Residential area around the Cité du Cinéma, and an Operational area connected to the road networks (A86 and A1). The village will be served by the future hub of the Greater Paris underground (2 RER and 5 underground lines).

This exceptional 51-hectare site will help athletes perform. Aside from those training at their competition venues, 100% of the athletes will train within 20 minutes from the Village, and 60% of those will train within the Village itself. 85% of athletes will be accommodated less than 30 minutes away from their competition venue.

After the Games, the operators will start repurposing the Village’s residential units in November 2024. They will hand over a new, eco-responsible, functional neighbourhood, which will blend into the city of the future in 2025.
