Nzulezo-The Village On Stilts, Amansuri Lake, Ghana

The village of Nzulezo is located near the village of Beyin, about 90 kilometers west of Takoradi, in the Jomoro district of western Ghana. Nzulezo dominates Lake Tadane and is completely formed by stilts and platforms.

The village, built entirely on stilts suspended above the Amansuri Lake, is said to have been created over 400 years ago by refugees from Mali who were led there by a Snail God.
