Novgorod Kremlin stands on the left bank of the Volkhov River in Veliky Novgorod about two miles north of where it empties out of Lake Ilmen.
Novgorod has one of the oldest Kremlins in Russia and it is a great place to visit. The museums inside are excellent and the Cathedral a joy. Millennium Monument is very impressive.
