Nouakchott Beach, Mauritania
Nouakchott Beach is the premier beach in Mauritania’s elegant capital city. Situated on Mauritania’s wave swept Atlantic coast, Nouakchott Beach is the ideal place to surf and enjoy the waves, but also offers excellent sunbathing conditions. The weather is consistently hot, and the sunshine is pretty much constant.
The beach itself is around 5 kilometres west of the city centre, and is right next to the popular fishing wharf, where tourists can see fishing nets being unloaded and fishermen hauling in their brightly decorated canoes. There are also some bars and seafood restaurants, which serve up the freshest fish around.
