Nathanael Greene/Close Memorial Park, Springfield, Missouri, USA

This beautiful botanical garden within a city park includes hundreds of varieties of plants in 21 gardens and horticultural collections, covering more than 100 acres.

Interpretive signage and cell-phone guided tour are available. Picnic facilities; grills; playground; restrooms; trails; shelters; lake; arboretum; specialty gardens including the Mizumoto Stroll Garden; Master Gardener Demonstration Gardens; the Gray/Campbell farmstead; South Creek Greenway Trail; Native Butterfly House. The garden is listed with the American Horticultural Society.

Start your visit at the Springfield-Greene County Botanical Center, which hosts special events, classes and exhibits all year. The Botanical Center is home to the MU Extension, Friends of the Garden, Greene County Master Gardeners and Springfield-Greene County Park Board botanical staff.

You’ll find a gift shop, restrooms, water fountain, the Lois K. Boswell Memorial Botanical Reference Library, community rooms, Wi-Fi and information about the gardens.
