The Museum of People was born with the aim to seek a synthesis between the identity of the people of Sergipe and their environment. Their legends, traditions, expressions, fauna, games, stories, characters and activities form the starting point for a discourse on the identity of a state.
The Museum of the People did not come from a collection of objects, but from an open and pulsating culture, and for its development the team turned to the real world, searching people, images, sounds and shapes that builds this reality. This museum was born from the desire to celebrate the identity of the fascinating people from Sergipe, with its festivals, landscapes, vitality and strength. A museum made from people and also a museum for our own.
The Museum of the People of Sergipe presents what this State have of most essential and enduring through innovative technologies and languages.
This encounter between tradition and new language has the power to create awareness and generate warmth about the local identity for the newer generations. This bonding is the most powerful way to preserve memory and heritage. This is a museum that celebrates the vitality and actual latency of a culture.
