The preserved Solar Gomes de Sousa, erected in 1836, was transformed into a museum in 1973. The objects on display – furniture, porcelain, glass and crystals – reconstitute the environments of the rich Maranhenses residences of the 18th and 19th centuries. Before entering for a visit Guided tour, enjoy the façade, a beautiful example of Portuguese colonial architecture.
