Musée Gustave Courbet, Ornans, Franche-Comte, France
The reopening of the Gustave Courbet museum in 2011, after three years of work, was a big event. This museum pays tribute to the local child and is part of the Pays de Courbet project , an artist’s country . The project, scientific and artistic, combines nature and culture around the painter and highlights the artist’s fate in Franche-Comté.
Between architectural modernity, respect for the environment , wood and metal, the museum surprises with its exterior architecture and combines the modernity of its structure with its content.
