Munot Castle, Schaffhausen, Switzerland
The Munot is a circular 16th century fortification in the center of the Swiss city of Schaffhausen. It is surrounded by vineyards. The ring-shaped fortress was built in the 16th century. [1] Today, it is a tourist attraction.
The Munot is the undisputed landmark of the city of Schaffhausen. In the 16th century, no other city of the Confederation had a monument of comparable monumentality. There is a variety of traditional and modern activities around the Schaffhauser landmark. This activity is the Munotverein, founded in 1839.
