
Her Excellency Kate Logan, a Champion of Diplomacy and Advocacy, has carved a path as a dynamic leader, seasoned diplomat, and advocate for international collaboration. Serving as the High Commissioner at the Australian High Commission, she embodies the spirit of modern diplomacy with a steadfast commitment to fostering global partnerships, cultural exchange, and mutual respect.
Kate’s journey into diplomacy is a testament to her perseverance and belief in the power of dialogue. Graduating with honors in International Relations and Law, she embraced the complexities of international affairs early in her career. Her diplomatic postings have taken her across continents, from Asia to Europe, where she has consistently championed Australia’s values of fairness, inclusivity, and innovation.
Known for her approachable demeanor and strategic mindset, Kate has been instrumental in bridging differences and forging new agreements in trade, environmental policy, and human rights. She believes in the transformative potential of collaboration, often stating that “a shared vision is the cornerstone of enduring relationships.” Beyond the office, Kate is a passionate mentor, empowering young professionals in the field of diplomacy. As High Commissioner, Kate continues to inspire by demonstrating the impact of empathy, resilience, and innovation in a rapidly changing world. Her story reminds us that diplomacy is not just a profession but a commitment to building bridges that unite humanity. Ms Logan commenced as Australia’s High Commissioner to Canada in December 2024. She is a senior career officer with the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and was most recently First Assistant Secretary, Pacific Strategy Division.
She previously led the Consular and Crisis Management Division, was Chief of Protocol and Assistant Secretary of the Executive Branch. She was Adviser to the Minister for Foreign Affairs with responsibility for South and South-east Asia and counter-terrorism issues. Her roles overseas include Ambassador to Greece, Counsellor at the Australian Embassy in Paris, Deputy Head of Mission at the Australian High Commission in Colombo and Second Secretary at the Australian Embassy in Athens.
She holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) majoring in international law and a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) from the University of Melbourne. In 1994 she completed a Graduate Diploma in Foreign Affairs and Trade from the Australian National University. She speaks French and Greek.
