Monument “Pamyat’ Shakhtoram Kuzbassa, Kemerovo Oblast, Russia

For 12 years this monument has been adorned by the museum-reserve “Red Hill” of the city of Kemerovo. The majestic seven-meter figure of the miner is set on the bank of the Tom River and is visible from afar. The bronze worker from the pedestal gazes proudly at the residents and visitors of the city. The muscles of the face and body of the miner are tense. And in his chest burns a coal-heart: a symbol of dedication and devotion to the profession.

The worker seemed to have grown out of a rock. From it are carved the strict and noble faces of other miners. The monument is dedicated to the hard work of miners in Siberia. The project was conceived back in the Union time, but it was carried out quite recently in the USA according to the plan of Ernst Neizvestny by the architects Razhev and Kuliev .
