Military-Historical Museum of the Pacific Fleet, Vladivostok, Primorskiy kray, Russia
The Military-Historical Museum of the Pacific Fleet is located in an ancient building, which is a monument of history and architecture. It was built in 1903. the construction commission of Vladivostok port under the project of the architect II.Zeeštrandt and was intended for the residence of family and single officers of the Siberian fleet crew.
The building is built in the traditions of “strict” classicism and is part of a single architectural ensemble of the so-called officer wings located along Svetlanskaya Street. Its facade has a symmetrical three-part composition, a division in the proportions of the order system, a number of decor elements: window sandricks, friezes, triangular pediments, figured attics.
In Soviet times in different years in this building lived members of the Military Council of the Pacific Fleet, famous naval commanders – Admiral NG. Kuznetsov, I.S. Yumashev, N.N. Amelko, VA Fokin and others. In the 1980-1990’s. there were various institutions of the Pacific Fleet. In 1997 the building was transferred to the Military-Historical Museum of the Pacific Fleet.
