Michelle Obama’s childhood home

The former First Lady lived at 7436 South Euclid Avenue above her great aunt Robbie from when she was a toddler until she moved to Hyde Park with Barack. In her book Becoming, Michelle explained: “My family lived in the South Shore neighbourhood of Chicago, in a tidy brick bungalow.

Obama grew up on the upper floor of this house on South Euclid Avenue on the South Side of Chicago. Her house was located a few blocks from the University of Chicago and the neighborhood was filled with many hard-working families, just like Obama’s.
