Memorial and Museum Auschwitz II-Birkenau

Auschwitz II-Birkenau part of the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum in Oświęcim, Poland, is the largest section of the Auschwitz complex and was the primary site of the Nazi’s mass extermination efforts during the Holocaust. Constructed in 1941, it functioned as both a concentration and extermination camp. Over a million people, mostly Jews, were systematically murdered here. Auschwitz II-Birkenau stands as a profound symbol of the Holocaust, emphasising the need for remembrance and education to prevent such atrocities from ever happening again.
