Melanie Robinson

British Ambassador to Zimbabwe

Melanie Robinson has been the British Ambassador to Zimbabwe since January 2019. Prior to this she was Executive Director for the UK at the World Bank Group in Washington from 2015 to 2018. Melanie has 18 years of experience in the international development sector, both in the UK’s Department for International Development and in the UK’s Department for Energy and Climate Change. She served as Head of DFID Ethiopia from 2012 to 2015.

The Ambassador represents Her Majesty The Queen and the UK government in the country to which they are appointed. They are responsible for the direction and work of the Embassy and its Consulates, including political work, trade and investment, press and cultural relations, and visa and consular services.
