Maya-Maya Airport, Brazzaville, Congo

Brazzaville Maya-Maya International Airport is the largest airport in Congo. Its international code (IATA code) is BZV.

Built in 1949 north-west of the old center of Brazzaville in the middle of an area that was at that time mainly forest, it has since seen growing its air traffic of passengers and freight. New neighborhoods have developed over time in the surrounding area.

Totally modernized and enlarged between 2010 and 2015, it is now one of the most modern airports on the continent. Its new futuristic design, made of glassn concrete and steel, totals 44,500m² and can handle more than 2 million passengers each year.

The new telescopic bridges now allow quick and safe boarding and disembarking of passengers arrivingand departing from Brazzaville. The largest new generation aircraft like Airbus A380 can now fly to Congo.
