The Maximilianeum is a historic building in Munich serving as the seat of the Bavarian Parliament (Landtag) and a foundation for gifted students. Located on the banks of the Isar River. Founded in 1852 by King Maximilian II of Bavaria as a foundation for gifted students from Bavaria. The building was designed by architect Friedrich Bürklein in the Neoclassical style and inaugurated in 1874. Since 1949, it has served as the seat of the Bavarian Parliament, housing the Landtag and its administrative offices.
