Mawsmai Cave well near Cherrapunji, well cave. The Caves of Meghalaya comprise a large number of caves in the Jaintia, Khasi Hills and Garo Hills districts in the Indian state of Meghalaya, and are amongst the longest caves in the world.

The popularity of this cave with domestic tourists translates to the incongruous sight of sari-clad women stooping through the low passages of the 150m-long natural limestone formation. Mawsmai’s tall row of roadside monoliths is as impressive as the cave but don’t receive the same attention.
