Mardin Castle, Mardin Merkez, Mardin, Turkey 

Mardin Castle which called eagle’s home, lived victories and disappointments. A king called Şah Buhari who adored the sun, stayed the Mardin Castle. The patient king recovered when staying this castle. Therefor Şah Buhari lived here throughout 12 years. After, he sited the people of Pers and Babel in Mardin. Eagle Castle was the source of inspiration a lot of poets that this castle bursted onto the scene. If you look the South of Eagle Castle in the night, you can mistake stairs for thousands of light at piedmont else.

The Mardin Castle, also popularly known as “Eagle Nest,” has hosted numerous kings and sultans including Subari, Sumerian, Babylonian, Mitanni, Assyrian, Persian, Roman, Byzantine, Ummayad, Abbasid, Hamdani, Seljuk, Artuqid, Qaraqoyunlu, Akkoyunlu and Safavid rulers and the Ottoman sultan.

Evidences have been found, which suggest that the castle was once used for residential purposes. Moreover, huge quantities of food and ammunition were stored in the castle’s storage rooms.
