Manaus Botanical Gardens, State of Amazonas, Brazil

The Adolpho Ducke Botanical Garden, inside a 100 km ecological reserve, is the world’s largest, with an infinite number of vegetal and animal species.

It was founded in 2000 and is situated on 500 hectares of primary forest land at the edge of the Adolpho Ducke Forest Reserve, east of Manaus.

It is administered through a partnership between the INPA (National Institute for Amazon Research), the Municipality of Manaus and MUSA (Museum of the Amazon), and rely on the support of CNPq, FAPEAM, among other institutions.

JB Manaus has a collection of live plants spread over more than 3 km of trails, a library, a nursery for donation, an amphitheater, and moment, an educational exhibition pavilion.

Can still be visited theme gardens (Palmeiras, aroids, Heliconias), track and Agroforestry nursery Orchids and Bromeliads. Soon an artificial lake will bring a representation of aquatic macrophytes in Amazonia.
