Little Fistral Beach

Little Fistral Beach is a much smaller beach than the others and the edges of it are quite rocky. The sand is probably the only gritty sand in Newquay. At low tide you can see the old footings of what looks like an early harbour or landing area, so this was obviously used in the past by fishermen.

Little Fistral beach sits to the north of the world renowned surfing venue of Fistral beach in Newquay, Cornwall. Little Fistral lies on the west side of Newquay’s picturesque Towan headland.

The small, west-facing beach of Little Fistral is accessible only at low tide. Atop the Towan headland sits a small white lookout’ building, from which there are wonderful coastal views of Newquay and beyond to be enjoyed.

Newquay is located on the mid north Cornwall coast, around 15 miles (in opposite directions) from both Padstow and Truro. Holiday cottages in Newquay provide a range of self catering holiday options.

A small number of parking spaces are available by the beach but there is a substantially larger car park at the main Fistral Beach (a short and pleasant walk away) which also boasts excellent facilities including a restaurant, toilets, shops and watersports facilities. There is no lifeguard patrol at Little Fistral.
