Levan Kobiashvili

Levan Kobiashvili, born on July 10, 1977, in Tbilisi, Georgia, has made significant contributions to both Georgian football as a player and as a leader in football administration. Beginning his career with FC Dinamo Tbilisi, he quickly established himself as a versatile midfielder known for his technical prowess and leadership on the field. Kobiashvili’s international career saw him earn over 100 caps for the Georgian national team, becoming one of the country’s most capped players and a respected figure in European football.

Transitioning from his successful playing career, Kobiashvili assumed the role of president of the Georgian Football Federation (GFF) in October 2015. Under his stewardship, the GFF has focused on advancing football development across Georgia, emphasizing youth development, infrastructure improvements, and enhancing the overall competitiveness of Georgian football. Kobiashvili’s vision includes fostering a sustainable football culture that not only strengthens the national team’s performance but also inspires future generations of Georgian footballers to excel both domestically and on the international stage. Georgia Football Association

The Georgian Football Federation was founded in 1936. Based in Tbilisi, it was part of the Football Federation of Soviet Union from 1936 to 1989. The Independent Georgian Football Federation was established on 15 February 1990. It is the governing body of football in Georgia. It organizes the football league, the Erovnuli Liga, and the Georgia national football team.

The Georgia national football team, representing the Republic of Georgia in international competitions, has steadily grown in prominence since gaining independence in 1991.
