Lenin Statue, Aleutskaya ulitsa, Vladivostok, Primorskiy kray, Russia
One of our most poignant memories of Russia, is searching for the Lenin Statue in every city and major town that we visited.
Russia has many heroes, and Lenin is an unforgettable part of the country’s history. The statue of Lenin is in a small park opposite the train station. Steps lead from the road level on either side of the statue. In front of the statue is a low rectangular hedge with pink flowers in the middle. Lamp posts are at the corners of the hedge. The name “Lenin” is in Russian at the base of the statue.
The posture of Lenin for this statue is that of “pointing the way to the future”, which is the most common pose that we saw amongst the many Lenin statues. Lenin holds his cloth hat by his side in his left hand, and points in a southerly direction with his right.
