Cheboksary’s main Lenin statue is located on Ploschad Respubliki (Republic Square) so named as the impressive Soviet-style Parliament Building of the Republic of Chuvashia is also located here behind Lenin. The statue was unveiled in 1960 and is a typical Lenin statue with a platform built onto the pedestal. Lenin faces the Agricultural Academy and the small modern Nativity of Christ Church.
