Lac des Bouillouses, Languedoc-Roussillon, France

Bouillouses Lake and its surroundings is a natural site classified since 1976.
The Bouillouses teeming with ideas of walks, revealing then for the walker an extraordinary ground of discovery, a colored and varied palette of routes for all the public going to the search for fauna and flora preserved …

Wildlife:
If we meet without much difficulty groundhog in the lawns that border the various lakes or the Izard in the alpine highlands, the site is also home to a mammal very rare endemic: Desman of the Pyrenees, small aquatic mammal of mountainous Pyrenean torrents, it feeds exclusively on insects and is protected on the national level.

The Flaure:
Carpet of heather, blueberry, broom and rhododendron, the site is also home to many varieties of plants including three species very rare in the department and protected in France; Gallium trifid (Rubiaceae), Botrychium simplex (a rare fern found in peat bogs) and Lake Isoetes.
