Kullen lighthouse, Mölle, Skane, Sweden

The area around the 188 m high Kullaberg is not a national park but a nature reserve. In fact, there are two of them. Eastern Kullaberg has been protected as a nature reserve since 1965, and Western Kullaberg with the lighthouse and the visitor centre (Naturum) became a nature reserve in 1971. The area covers a total of 1,000 hectares of land and 300 hectares of water. The water area belongs to the bay of Skälderviken, north of Kullen.

Kullaberg is Sweden’s most visited nature reserve. The terrain is rugged and beautiful. The cliffs plunge (up to 70 metres) straight into the water. As we witnessed, one can climb some of these steep cliffs accompanied by a professional guide and with appropriate equipment. Other activities on offer include treasure hunts, caving tours, porpoise safaris, snorkelling, and kayaking.

Just before the Kullaberg, you will pass the popular golf course: Mölle Golfklubb. This golf course is said to have Sweden’s most beautiful views. From 16 out of 18 holes, you can see the sea, or so they say.
