Killesbergturm

The 42-meter high tower with its bold steel lattice construction, four platforms, and two spiraling staircases has long become a landmark of Stuttgart. It stands at the highest point of the historic Killesberg Park, offering a wide view over the city and countryside. It is owned by the Beautification Association Stuttgart e.V. Since its inauguration on July 17, 2001, our tower has seen a high number of visitors, especially on dry days. On some beautiful summer weekends, queues can even form on the ascending and descending stairs.

For its 140th anniversary, the Beautification Association Stuttgart e.V. gifted the city, its citizens, and its visitors with an observation tower that is truly unique: its construction and visual appearance, its size, and the breadth of the view from its four levels. This tower is visually connected with other Stuttgart towers and viewpoints. It is an important landmark on the way from the city up into the forest, into the landscape, and from the landscape back into the city. It is the starting and ending point of many walking and hiking trails. The Killesberg Tower has quickly become a new symbol of Stuttgart, and it is often forgotten that its existence is not owed to the city, but to the Beautification Association Stuttgart. It is a masterpiece of engineering and has been honored with prestigious awards multiple times. At the same time, it represents the striking terminus of the “Green U” from the New Palace to the Killesberg Park.
