Kigwema, Nagaland, India
A 10-minute drive past Kisama along Imphal road brings you to Kigwema, an Angami village of historic importance where Japanese forces arrived and set up camp before the final showdown with Allied Forces in 1944. Several households here welcome tourists (preferably accompanied by local guides) and you can get a peek into the daily lives of resident tribespeople.
