Khasab Port, Musandam Governorate, Oman 

Khasab port in Musandam Governorate has a strategic location near Hurmez strait in the vast northern corner of the sultanate. Due to its location the government held a high interest on it in order to attract and encourage the commerce movement and serving the local economy of the governorate.

In 30th September2012, Royal orders issued to develop Khasab port in regard to Management, operating and upgrading its efficiency by building sea berth as well finding the appropriate space of enough capacity for commerce, tourism, and other facilitation activities like stops. The current size of the port is (159 hectare), 300m long commercial berth, 100m long traditional fishing berth and 8 floating berths. The orders also included establishing prober places to receive commercial vessels and boats owners as well tugboats and its usage training. Development of the area surrounding the port in accordance with the consultancy studies as well conducting the required expansion for the port during the next (5 years plan) , which will intake the future tourism and economic activities of the port.
