Kaputaş Bridge, Kaş, Antalya, Turkey

Travelling by car or Dolmus, only 6 km from Kalkan, the sharp bends that twist and turn tightly around the cliffs lead you to a dramatic rock formation and the mesmerising turquoise blue waters that cannot be missed from the road.

Kaputas beach is popular with tourists and locals due to its natural untouched beauty. It can be reached by descending the 170 or more steps from the road, which can leave you somewhat breathless – or this could just be due to the magnificent view that awaits you!

For those seeking a beach with a dramatic backdrop, the Kaputas Gorge – a magnificent deep canyon set amongst the cliffs on the opposite side of the road to the 150-metre-long pebble and sandy beach – will not disappoint. The canyon was formed over thousands of years by the flowing waters of a waterfall. A walkway can be reached from the beach under a bridge, but only when the water is at low levels or dried up. Kaputas Gorge is about 200 metres long and the vastness of the steep rough rugged walls is spectacular.

The rustic charm of Kaputas beach is captured whilst languishing lazily on your sunbed, soaking up the atmosphere and the sheer enormity and vibrant colours of the earthy terracotta rock face staring back at you.
