Jean-Georges Restaurant

Jean‑Georges opened in 1997 to critical acclaim. The jewel of Chef Jean‑Georges Vongerichten’s empire, the restaurant offers the very best in fine dining. Awarded four stars by the New York Times and two Michelin stars, Jean‑Georges presents exquisitely crafted dishes blending French, American, and Asian influences. The local farmer’s market is the driving force behind the seasonal, ever‑changing menu. Chef Jean‑Georges is a master at maintaining the essence of ingredients while using them inventively to produce the best flavour.

Jean-Georges (jean-georges.com) at Columbus Circle and Central Park West overlooks some of the same iconic real estate as Per Se but from ground level. The sleekly modern restaurant, all subdued neutrals and minimalist décor, serves fixed-price lunch and dinner every day but Sunday. Formal service is impeccable and unobtrusive, and the food is a major draw. Sweetbreads might be served with a black truffle vinaigrette; sashimi might include pistachios and mint. Jean-Georges is the signature restaurant of legendary international chef, restaurateur and cookbook author Jean-Georges Vongerichten, who oversees the development of the menus with his distinctive vegetable-based sauces.
