Ital Reding Estate, Schwyz, Switzerland
The Ital Reding-Hofstatt is one of the most valuable assemblies in the state of Schwyz. Within the enclosure wall are the Herrenhaus, the Bethlehem House and the Economic Building today the Kantonsbibliothek.
Ital Reding had the representative country house built in 1609. He was a descendant of the Ital Reding of the Elder and his son Ital Reding the Younger . The two towering towers and the dwarf gables as well as the entrance gates on the pillars are additions from the year 1663. In 1982, a foundation was able to purchase and renovate the entire property, the house includes the main house which now serves as a museum and for events Betlehem (built in 1287) and a former economic building, which has been used since 1986 as cantonal library Schwyz.
