The Mysterious Lagoon is not actually in the city of Bonito . It is located in the city of Jardim , distant almost 1 hour by car from the center of Bonito and is part of the tourist complex Rio de la Plata .
Before it was not a tourist attraction open to the public, since it was on a private farm. Later the owner of the farm ended up dying and his wife decided to sell to the Rio de la Plata Group (neighbor of the place) that invested to attract tourists. If it remained private, it would be a real loss for mankind, such a beauty of the place.
The Mysterious Lagoon has this name because until today they have not discovered the depth that the lagoon has. As far as the professional divers arrived it was a total of 220 meters.
