Horta-Lambeaux Pavilion

19th-century neoclassical pavilion by a prominent Belgian architect featuring a large marble relief. The small building with the appearance of a Greek temple located in the Cinquantenaire Park constituted the first public order for the young Victor Horta. Inside lies the impressive relief of Human Passions, sculpted by Jef Lambeaux. This monumental work ( 11 m wide by 6 m high ), made in Carrara marble, represents the pleasures and misfortunes of humanity.

Since its completion in 1898, the relief of the Human Passions of Jef Lambeaux, hidden within a neo-classical pavilion created by Victor Horta, has rarely been accessible to the public. Mystery and the sulphurous reputation surrounding it have often ignited imaginations. Since 2015, both the building and the relief it houses have been restored and cleaned.

The interior of the Human Passions Pavilion is for the moment only accessible for group guided tours.
