Horsforth Village Museum

Horsforth Museum aims to reflect the heritage of Horsforth through exhibitions portraying all aspects of life in and around Horsforth village. Opening times are for the last Saturday in March to the end of December Horsforth, once described as the largest village in England, has somehow managed to retain some of its village identity and character in spite of being absorbed into the urban sprawl of Leeds. Housed in the former council chambers the museum has an atmosphere and friendliness only to be found in a committed local history museum.

Quaint little museum covering the history of Horsforth, only open at weekends (short opening hours too) as it’s run by volunteers (who are lovely), bigger on the inside than it seems too, worth a look downstairs for the mosaic of the Queen which was a collaborative effort on the part of a local art school.
