The Ministry operates through two closely aligned bodies, the Ministry for Culture and Gibraltar Cultural Services, working together to ensure culture remains vibrant, protected, and accessible.
At its core, the Ministry for Culture is dedicated to the preservation and conservation of Gibraltar’s heritage, safeguarding the stories, traditions, and landmarks that shape the nation’s character. It leads the protection, development, and promotion of cultural heritage, while honouring significant historical events that have defined Gibraltar’s journey. Through Gibraltar Cultural Services, the Ministry also celebrates artistic excellence by recognising achievement in the arts through cultural awards and public programmes.
Together, these efforts uphold and strengthen the Gibraltarian identity by supporting and promoting the arts in all their forms, including visual, theatrical, musical, dance, literary, televisual, and cinematographic expression.
