Hohhot Five-Pagoda Temple, Zizhiqu, China
Five Pagoda Temple, formerly known as Cideng Temple, is located in the southeastern area of the old city in Hohhot. The Five Pagoda Temple is a Buddhist pagoda within the larger Cideng Temple. At one time, all the other temples collapsed and only the Buddhist pagoda remained standing. Only later did people become aware of the temples here and after reconstruction the temple was renamed Five Pagoda Temple. The Five Pagoda Temple is a traditional Tibetan Buddhist temple and the birthplace of Tibetan Buddhism in Mongolia.
